Chloe Le Tissier in The Crisis Commission exhibition

Chloe currently has a painting on display in The Crisis Commission exhibition. The Bermondsey Project, Willow Walk, SE1 5SF, 9 – 23 May, 1 – 6pm daily.

'Major new works by leading contemporary artists including Martin Creed, Mark Wallinger, Gavin Turk, George Shaw, Bill Woodrow and Richard Long are to be exhibited as part of the Crisis Commission.
Exhibited alongside these celebrated artists will be works from people who have experienced homelessness – clients of homelessness charity Crisis – to create a unique combined reflection on the theme of 'Home' in the Crisis Commission art exhibition.'

Applications to Jerwood Drawing Prize 2014

The deadline for applications to the Jerwood Drawing Prize is 16 June 2014, 5pm. Last year saw a successful showing for Drawing Year students and alumni, featuring work by Kathryn Maple and Kristian Fletcher. To apply, visit the Jerwood website.

Contemporary Art from South West Scotland

Tuscany and Dumfries Residencies

Pignano

The spring applications are currently open for the Moritz-Heyman Residencies in Pignano, Tuscany and for the Dumfries House artists’ residencies, in Ayrshire.  Both are fully funded and include accommodation and private studio. These residencies are for emerging and established artists for whom drawing is part of their practice. The Tuscany residencies are for UK painters. The Dumfries residencies are for artists from the UK and USA, who may be painters, textile and furniture designers, illustrators, practice-based researchers and applied artists.
The deadline for applications is 5 May. 


The Moritz-Heyman Residencies at the Artist’s House in Pignano, Volterra, Tuscany are open to emerging and established painters from the UK, for whom drawing is part of their practice.
Selection for residencies will be made by a distinguished jury of artists and curators.
Applications are now open for fully funded one month residencies available throughout the year, which include the use of a studio incorporated in its own private house.

Applications are now open for the Dumfries House artists’ residencies for emerging and established artists from the UK and USA, for whom drawing is part of their practice.
The residency is delivered by The Prince’s Drawing School, Glasgow School of Art and Dumfries House. Selection for residencies will be made by a distinguished jury of artists and curators.
Fully funded one month residencies are available throughout the year, and provide a private studio and accommodation on the Dumfries House estate for up to four artists at any one time.

Jevan Watkins Jones


Over the past two years, Jevan has been working with soldiers and veterans during their time at a recovery centre in Colchester. He has been leading a drawing project, ongoing since November 2012, which recently culminated in an exhibition, 'Facing-Recovering' at First Site. Through drawings, objects and videos, these men have shared their personal stories and experience of injury and PTSD. You can view a video about the project on the British Forces News website.
