Carl is showing a large painting made in Japan, ‘Tokyo Portrait,’ at ‘Art Volta’ 10, Basel, Switzerland. June 16th – 21st. Art Volta runs alongside Art Basel, one of the world’s largest and most prestigious art fairs. The painting is being exhibited with The Berloni Gallery, London. He has also just exhibited ‘Hibakusha Portraits’, a series of 6 drawings made in Hiroshima of survivors of the Atomic Bomb, at University College London Museum, as part of the museum's permanent collection.
Bow Arts Open Studios is happening next weekend, Friday 27th (6 - 9pm) and Saturday 28th (1 - 5pm) June. Lots more information can be found on their website. Harriet was selected to be the artist in residence at the 2012 'Works on Paper
Fair' at the Science Museum, organised and sponsored by the directors of Kevis
House Gallery. The directors have invited Harriet to hold a solo show at the
gallery as they were interested to see how her work has developed in the
intervening two years. "Working across a number of locations, Harriet's current work explores the effect
of time on lived-in landscapes. She is interested in the changing identities of
built environments - their histories, textures and characters that inhabit
them. "

graduate study, providing visitors with a rare opportunity to view and
buy exceptional pieces from an emerging generation of new artists."
Anna would love to see you at STORE on Friday for the opening of TEMPLE
OF LUSTS.
As artist in residence at STORE during May Anna has developed a new body of
work begun during her residency at the British School in Athens. With giant
paper cut-outs she is (from ceiling to floor) creating a mythological, legendary
landscape inspired by medieval painted churches. Using the local Treadwells
bookshop (specialists of the banned, burned and ridiculed literature) to search
for myths and characters, the current cast include Queens of tragedy Sarah
Siddons as Boudica, Lady Godiva as herself and Tina Turner as Compere.

The prize offers a total
of £12,650 and is open to artists
over 18 throughout the world.
They accept work using graphite, charcoal, pastel, watersoluble or coloured pencils. An exhibition of shortlisted works will be on show
