John Ruskin Prize 2014

Rydal Hanbury


Rydal exhibited her 1.5 metre drawing ' The Commuters at Mansion House Traffic Lights" at Abbott and Holder gallery next to the British Museum on 22- 24 November and she is also in a group show called '10x 10 Drawing the City' with Jeanette Barnes at the Crossing, 1 Granary Square, N1C 4AA. Exhibition continues until 28 November. Illustrated on the left is a detail from 'Brick Lane Drawings' by Rydal Hanbury.

Grant Foster


Grant is in this year's Bloomberg New Contemporaries, at the ICA 27 November- 26 January.

Studio Available


Freddy Dewe Mathews is looking for someone to share his studio with. It's a very nice and bright space on the ground floor of a block of studios just off Coldharbour Lane; between Brixton and Camberwell (Loughborough Junction). He is very rarely in there at the moment and so you would have it all to yourself most of the time.

Abbey Awards

The Abbey Scholarship and Abbey Fellowships offer all-expenses-paid Residency in Rome, with a stipend of up to £700 a month for the Scholar and £800 for Fellows. The nine-month Abbey Scholarship is usually given to an emergent painter, while the three-month Abbey Fellowships are awarded to mid-career painters. Abbey Awards are open to people of UK and US nationality, and to citizens of other countries provided that they have lived in the UK or the US for at least 5 years. There is no age limit.
