Rosie Vohra wins Reach Prize
Rosie Vohra (DY 2014) has won the Afshin Naghouni Reach Prize awarded by Art for Youth London during the exhibition 'In England We Dream of Gardens' which took place at the Mall Galleries. The prize was awarded for her drawing 'A Short Story' (gouache on paper - shown below), as recognition of excellence in drawing. This year the prize was chosen and awarded by artist Afshin Naghouni.

Drawing by Nahem Shoa acquired by V&A
Drawing of Samson and the Philistines after a sculpture by Vincenzo Foggini 1749.

A drawing of Samson and the Philistines
by Nahem Shoa (Drawing Year 2004) has been acquired by
the Victoria & Albert Museum for their permanent collection. The drawing
(from 1993) is after a sculpture by Vincenzo Foggini, dated 1749. Nahem
spent over a month at the V&A making it, approximately 200 hours
of work. The drawing will be stored in a case along with
ten other drawings of statues by Turner, Constable, Reynolds, Moore
and Frink. ‘I consider it the best drawing of this kind of drawing I have ever made. It is
a huge honour’ says the artist.
Eight RDS artists in group exhibition in Cornwall
Eight RDS
artists are included in an exhibition at Tregony Gallery in Cornwall: : Timothy Betjeman, Meg Buick, Alex Cree, Judi Green, Mark Hanson, Sara Lee Roberts, Daniel Preece and Gregory Ward. The
gallery is owned by Drawing Year alumna Judi Green (DY 2002).
