Applications to Jerwood Drawing Prize 2014
The deadline for applications to the Jerwood Drawing Prize is 16 June 2014, 5pm. Last year saw a successful showing for Drawing Year students and alumni, featuring work by Kathryn Maple and Kristian Fletcher. To apply, visit the Jerwood website.
Contemporary Art from South West Scotland
For those of you in London this week and with an interest in Scottish Art, do visit this exhibition. Alex Cree
Alex has an upcoming solo exhibition, "Another Side of London" at Trinity House Paintings, showing Landscapes, Still Lifes and Narrative paintings. The Private View is Saturday 26 April 6.30 - 9pm. Tuscany and Dumfries Residencies

The spring applications are currently open for the Moritz-Heyman Residencies in Pignano, Tuscany and for the Dumfries House artists’ residencies, in Ayrshire. Both are fully funded and include accommodation and private studio. These residencies are for emerging and established artists for whom drawing is part of their practice. The Tuscany residencies are for UK painters. The Dumfries residencies are for artists from the UK and USA, who may be painters, textile and furniture designers, illustrators, practice-based researchers and applied artists.
The deadline for applications is 5 May.
The Moritz-Heyman Residencies at the Artist’s House in Pignano, Volterra, Tuscany are open to emerging and established painters from the UK, for whom drawing is part of their practice.
Selection for residencies will be made by a distinguished
jury of artists and curators.

Jevan Watkins Jones
Over the past two years, Jevan has been working with soldiers and veterans during their time at a recovery centre in Colchester. He has been leading a drawing project, ongoing since November 2012, which recently culminated in an exhibition, 'Facing-Recovering' at First Site. Through drawings, objects and videos, these men have shared their personal stories and experience of injury and PTSD. You can view a video about the project on the British Forces News website.
