Emma Seach Solo Exhibition The Hive, Dalston

Emma Seach has a new exhibition coming up.
INDUSTRIAL/RHYTHM/STRUCTURE

The private view is on Friday 24th July from 7.30pm - 10.30pm at The Hive (260-264 Kingsland Road). The Hive is a new multi-storey events space in the heart of Haggerston. Alumni may be interested in the space, which is a very large warehouse space for exhibitions, free to use.

Collecting imagery from Delhi, Detroit and London, Emma makes structural charcoal drawings focusing on rhythms and spaces in the built environment.

From 9pm, 25K MPH will provide a live performance of machine-made electronic music with an industrial edge. 25K MPH is the speed required to leave the earth's atmosphere. The mechanics making this possible is the subject of their first release, they start with the combustion engine...

 The private view is an opportunity to see the drawings together with the music that inspires them.

Complimentary drinks will be provided by Beavertown brewery.

Clare Davidson Bow Open Studios

Clare Davidson is taking part in Bow Open Studios 2015, which runs from June 19 evening to 20 daytime. It is the 20th anniversary of the studios so there will be music, workshops, food and celebrations, as well as the art.

Sam Halstead and Phoebe Stannard in Group Show, London

Sam Halstead and Phoebe Stannard have work in a group show at Jean Luc-Baroni Gallery in Mason's Yard, London, SW1Y 6BU. 'British Art Medal Society: Works in Bronze and other Media by Contemporary Medallists'. It opened on 12 May and runs until 19 June.
The gallery is open Monday - Friday 9.30 am - 6 pm.

Jevan Watkins Jones Facing - Recovering tours to House of Commons

Jevan Watkins Jones led the creation of Facing - Recovering, an exhibition of work made with and by veterans with PTSD and injured soldiers in Colchester. The work has been exhibited at First Site, the Royal Armouries, and is now on display at the House of Commons, before touring internationally.

Beth Collar at Serpentine Gallery and David Roberts Art Foundation

Beth Collar will be doing a performance; Probably, Like a Melon Rolling Off a Table: Part II, at the Serpentine Gallery inside the Reiner Ruthenbeck exhibition this Saturday as part of their Saturday Live series. It will start at 3pm, Saturday 31 January.

Also, Beth's artist book Gallery Copy launches on 5 February during David Roberts Art Foundation's 'grand opening night' of their exhibition The Violet Crab on Thursday 5 February, 7-9pm. 

The book was commissioned by David Roberts Art Foundation to be an artwork which also acts as a guide to their Artworks in Residence, a series of works from the collection and sit-specific commissions displayed on a long-term basis in the building.

Jevan Watkins Jones at Caroline Wiseman

"On show will be a body of new collage works which take their lead from the pioneering plant life viewed from the studio door and windows on the shingle and by the sea wall.

He writes, ‘it’s difficult to fix representative images of an image conscious Aldeburgh without falling into cliché and indulging in it’s picturesque charm.

Collage allows me to shuffle - walls, sea, plant, beach, sky, winter - away from eye candy seaside town toward the more elemental underside of a town with an edge.'"

Pippa Smith and Clare Davidson

Pippa Smith and Clare Davidson are exhibiting prints and drawings at The Gallery Cafe in Bethnal Green in December.21 Old Ford Road, Bethnal Green, E2 9PL. 4 December 2014 - 3 January 2015. Private View 4 December 2014, 6 - 9pm.

'An exhibition focusing on two artists' response to aspects of London's landscape. Starting from observed drawings both artists have then developed a series of prints.
Clare has created composite images based on views visible both from her window and from near her home. She has looked at both the organic and the man made, playing with different elements  - such as a bridge or a tree - and combining them into new images.

Pippa has used drawings made on Crossrail construction sites as the starting point for this exhibition.
From these drawings she has made a series of monoprints that explore the strange forms and textures found within these temporary urban landscapes.'

East London Painting Prize Exhibition

"43 artists from across east London have been shortlisted for the inaugural East London Painting Prize. One winner will be chosen from the selected group to receive a life changing £10,000 prize and a prominent solo show at East London’s Nunnery Gallery later this year.
 The shortlisted artists comprise both established and emerging names from the east London boroughs of Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Barking & Dagenham and Redbridge."

Jevan Watkins Jones

Over the past two years, Jevan has been working with soldiers and veterans during their time at a recovery centre in Colchester. He has been leading a drawing project, ongoing since November 2012, which recently culminated in an exhibition, 'Facing-Recovering' at First Site. Through drawings, objects and videos, these men have shared their personal stories and experience of injury and PTSD. You can view a video about the project on the British Forces News website.

Anna Ilsley

Anna Ilsley

Anna won the British School at Athens Bursary 2013. She has just gone to Athens where she will be making work about the seers at Delphi. Fabienne Khial

Fabienne took part in 'Art is Bread' at the Gallop Space in Deptford last month. Along with another artist she made 300 postcard size drawings. The show was inspired by the quote by  El Salvador poet Roque Dalton; " Poetry like bread is for everyone."

Nhatt Nichols

Nhatt's drawing, entitled 'My Last Inch', won 3rd prize in The Roostein Hopkins Exhibition, it will be on display at the Morley Gallery, 61 Westminster Bridge Road, SE1.The opening is 4.30- 7pm on 16 May, exhibition continues until 8 June. All details here www.parkerharris.co.uk
