Sir Denis Mahon Award

This prestigious award was created in 2010 to celebrate the 100th birthday of Sir Denis Mahon. The winning graduate will be awarded a bursary of £5,000 and a free studio space for one year.

Sir Denis was a scholar, connoisseur and collector who assembled the finest private collection of 17th Century Italian paintings in the world, including several Carravaggios. A life-long supporter of free entry to museums and galleries, many of Sir Denis's paintings hang in the National Gallery.

For details about how to apply please go to the Sir Denis Mahon page above. All alumni who graduated from the 1st or 2nd year of the Drawing Year in 2010 or 2011 can apply, unfortunately the award is not open to applications from current 2nd Year students or graduates from previous years.
