Kathryn Maple wins First Prize in the Sunday Times Watercolour Prize 2016 (again!)

Congratulations to Kathryn Maple (Drawing Year 2013) and Chloe Le Tissier (DY 2011) who have won First and Second Prize respectively in this year's Sunday Times Watercolour Prize. Read the full article here.

Kathryn's watercolour 'Sandy Shoes' is based on her travels to Vypin, one of a group of islands in the southwestern Indian state of Kerala. ‘Sandy Shoes looks at the filtered shapes and vibrant colours I experienced there’ she says. Kathryn won the Prize in 2014.

Chloe's watercolour 'Never Alone' is painted on graph paper and depicts a male figure standing by a pool against a backdrop of tropical flora. You can see Kathryn and Chloe’s watercolours, along with the other selected works in the exhibition when it opens at the Mall Galleries on 19 September.

'A Pause of Pulls', Gouache on paper, 85 x 74cm.

Rosie Vohra is also included in the exhibition (see image above).
